Colonial Country Club, Jackson Course, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Jackson, Mississippi.
Colonial Country Club opened for play in 1946.
The course was built on rolling terrain and has a few water hazards that come into play on a couple of holes. The course is difficult because of the large trees that line the fairways. The signature hole is #3, a 174-yard, par 3.
Blue tees: par-72, 6,900 yards
White tees: par-72, 6,235 yards
Red tees: par-72, 5,196 yards
At its height, Colonial had 1,000 members. As membership numbers declined to less than 300, the economic viability of operations was no longer present. The course went into foreclosure in 2014 and ceased operating.
Colonial also owned Deerfield Golf Course a course in Madison, MS. Deerfield was purchased by a private group who hope to return it to its former glory. Deerfield remains open.
